Next, press the Windows key and the R key at the same time to open the run dialog. NOTE: ALL FOLLOWING REGISTRY IS BASED ON YOUR DIRECTORY.
Not sure who mentioned it taking a long time, but the game does load very quickly, especially compared to the past entries!Using the last beta build as a test (Note: NOT the final optimized version), and using a label with 47 artists on it in the RL Mod (which is an incredibly large database): Light weeks take 3-5 seconds to load, while heavier weeks (ones where you receive festival invites, performance invites, etc) can take 10 seconds to load. For those who can’t open FOC, this solution worked for me:įirst, locate the “Star Wars Empire at War” directory. CW3's Tour Sponsors, Looks, Crimes, and Rich Lists aren't in MWE, nor is there anything comparable to those features in the game.If there's anything specifically you're wondering about that I didn't touch on or you'd want elaborated, I'd be happy to answer. R2S has Distributors and Merchandisers, both of which are absent from MWE. MWE does not have a comparable talent show system, though new artists are generated every year. R2S has talent shows (The Voice, X Factor, etc) that are used to generate new acts into the game. They're locked and uneditable (so far) in MWE. R2S allows you to edit album/single prices in the editor. His last post on facebook is explicit that updates won't be happening for a while, until things get sorted out.MWE also has more release types, release options (Physical, Digital, Streaming), ability for artists to be in multiple projects at once (Main Bands, Solo Acts, Side Projects), ability to change an artists genre, learn new instruments, and much more. But, for as much as MWE has going for it, there are features from R2S and CW3 that are absent.
CW3 has been abandoned (it's what, a decade out at this point), and while R2S is still actively in development, it'll be 2 years in November since its last big update (1.1.1.0) and the dev has been open about progress stalling due to personal problems in his real life. Simply put, even with more content in it, MWE loads faster than the other two games.Support - It's also worth noting that MWE is still receiving updates and support from its dev. You can shave the MWE load time down by using smaller databases too, as the one that ships with the game loads in 7 seconds per week.
But, if the fact it isn't out yet is a dealbreaker for you, then you may want to hold off on getting MWE until that's out.Load times - Running a comparison between the three games, simming a week in R2S takes 30 seconds, simming a day (there isn't a week option in CW3) in CW3 takes 8 seconds (so a full week should be 56 seconds), and simming a week in MWE (using the RL Mod) takes 10 seconds. I'm actually the one handling the mod, so there is a lot of bias there (I pride myself on how much is included in the mod), but it will have more content than the two other games. When it comes out, the mod will contain more content in almost every conceivable way than both CW3 and R2S combined (more artists, festivals, award shows, etc). MWE does not because it is a paid game (and it'd be illegal to ship that content, for a price, without clearing it with the proper rights holders), though a mod for it will be out soon. That's not to say there aren't bugs (every game has them), but you won't experience any that that will crash your game outright.Databases - CW3 and R2S both ship with a Real World database full of actual artists, so you can manage your favorite acts.
While you may see reports of people experience major bugs with MWE on the official forums, a bulk of these are from people converting old and buggy mods from the previous game, and won't be experienced by most players.
